Seiring dengan berkembangnya zaman, alat transportasi manusia semakin berkembang. Dahulu kala, kuda merupakan hewan yang berperan penting dalam roda ekonomi dan historis manusia. Manusia menunggagi kuda untuk mengangkat barang dan sebagai alat transportasi. Kuda memegang peranan luas dalam kebudayaan manusia. Namun, kuda yang telah tergantikan oleh alat transportasi lainnya lambat laun telah dilupakan. Pusat Olahraga dan Rekreasi Berkuda merupakan sebuah media agar generasi yang lebih  muda dapat terus menghargai, menikmati dan berpengetahuan tentang olahraga berkuda. Minimnya lokasi untuk melakukan olahraga berkuda menjadi dasar pemikiran untuk membangun Pusat Olahraga dan Rekreasi Berkuda selain menambah nilai dari kota juga memberikan destinasi wisata yang baru dan layak untuk masyarakat dan pengunjung. Maka dari itu penerapan tema Arsitektur Kolonial pada bangunan agar dapat membangun suasana dan memberikan rasa berkuda seperti pada tahun 1900an. Dari tema ini juga dapat memberikan ciri khas dari tempat ini untuk para wisatawan.
