Abstract
The goal of the project was to examine the growth of precarious employment in order to foster new social, statistical, legal, political, and economic understandings of this phenomenon -understandings grounded in workers' experiences of their work and directed at improving their quality and conditions of work and health. The research agenda of the alliance was divided into two phases, beginning with a southern Ontario component and followed by a Quebec comparison. It encompassed four interlocking streams of research: on the shape, size, and location of precarious employment; on labour laws, regulations, and policies concerned with precarious employment; on work organization and health; and on improving working conditions. From the outset, the work of this alliance was interdisciplinary in its approach, and participants were committed to action-oriented research. Each stream of research was designed to explore the intersections of race, class, gender, and other social relations in shaping the legal and social regulation of precarious employment and to take workers' experiences as its point of departure in defining research questions, devising methodological tools, and disseminating findings.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
