Abstract
ResumoO consumo de crack e cocaína durante a gestação causa problemas tanto maternos quanto fetais, uma vez que, o uso dessas substâncias atravessa a barreira placentária promovendo um quadro de hiperestimulação do sistema nervoso.Os sinais clínicos geralmente se desenvolvem nos primeiros dias após o nascimento repercutindo em sintomas autonômicos, neurológicos e até gastrointestinais.Esse conjunto de sinais e sintomas exibidos pelo neonato após a interrupção da exposição gestacional à cocaína é conhecida como síndrome de abstinência neonatal (NAS).O objetivo desse estudo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura a fim de apresentar os efeitos físicos e psicológicos da síndrome de abstinência neonatal.Todavia, é sabido que as consequências para o neonato são múltiplas, mas a gravidade dos sintomas depende do tempo de exposição, da quantidade de substância consumida, bem como o acompanhamento feito pela mulher durante a gestação.
