Abstract

These acknowledgments not only express my thanks to the many people who helped me along my learning journey but also symbolize the nature of the research. The tree carvings were located with the selfless help of many people: it would have been an impossible task to find these profound art forms in the vast forests of British Columbia and the Yukon without their guidance. They helped me locate a friend of a friend "who may know something," or they would dig through their albums for old photographs, or introduce me to an Elder and reassure them of my intentions.I am most thankful to the Elders: without their knowledge, tree art would be only a historical curiosity. There is a great debate among Elders about whether they should share their knowledge or not. Some say they should protect the knowledge from the intrusive and uncaring eyes of the colonizer by holding it tight.Others believe that the younger generations and non-

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
