Abstract
This paper presents the LTCC package design details for a 72GHz phased array transceiver. The paper covers the module design details and the measurements results. The design is based on 8X8 patch antenna array with additional two rings of padding. The measured EIRP of the module is 39dBm. The radiation patterns show an azimuth steering of ±60° and an elevation steering of ±15°. Radiation pattern measurements are reported from 70GHz to 76GHz. The paper also presents the design considerations of the test socket used for the over-the-air measurements.
