Abstract
Este trabalho procura demonstrar os impactos perversos que a prática do contrabando, do descaminho e do comércio ilegal causam na sociedade de nosso país de uma forma geral. Que uma compra, aparentemente inocente, de um produto qualquer falsificado, seja em uma loja popular ou em uma banca de camelô, é apenas a vista aparente de uma grande cadeia logística que tem como pano de fundo os crimes contra direitos autorais, contra a propriedade industrial e intelectual, de concorrência desleal e os próprios crimes de contrabando e de descaminho, previstos em nosso Código Penal. Que causam um enorme impacto negativo para a economia nacional e para a segurança pública de nosso país, principalmente em cidades em região de fronteira, pois fomentam o crime organizado e a sonegação de tributos, com perdas bilionárias de arrecadação para o Estado. Também pretende demonstrar a evolução da prática do contrabando e da pirataria, outrora totalmente praticada por amadores e atualmente por organizações criminosas altamente estruturadas e organizadas, com atuação de forma bastante violenta.
