L’exception franco-canadienne dans deux romans ethnographiques québécois

Abstract
Cet article cherche à dégager les principales caractéristiques du roman ethnographique québécois explorant la francophonie canadienne en procédant à l’analyse comparative de La maudite Québécoise. Roman nationaliste (Tryptique, 2010) de Janis Locas et Yukonnaise (VLB Éditeur, 2012) de Mylène Gilbert-Dumas. Ces deux romans mettent en scène des protagonistes québécoises qui découvrent la francophonie manitobaine ou yukonnaise. Persuadées de tenir un sujet exceptionnel, elles s’improvisent ethnographes et décident de faire part de leur « découverte » dans un livre qui raconte les différences entre le Québec et la francophonie canadienne. Tout en s’interrogeant sur la perception que les Québécois et les Québécoises entretiennent des francophones en situation minoritaire et vice-versa, Locas et de Gilbert-Dumas proposent des pistes d’intégration à l’intention de leur public cible, le lectorat québécois.
