Abstract
Depuis une trentaine d’années, les musées développent de nouveaux types d’expositions fondés sur des scénographies spectaculaires et l’envie de « faire éprouver, de faire vivre le propos de l’exposition ». Les musées développent chez les visiteurs des émotions fortes et de l’immersion à travers leurs dispositifs expographiques. Mais quels sont les facteurs qui, dans ces expositions, produisent vraiment de l’immersion auprès des visiteurs ?Cet article tente de comprendre ce qui caractérise l’immersion au sein d’une exposition et quels éléments de l’exposition favorisent ou non l’immersion des visiteurs. Pour cela, une étude de publics a été opérée à l’Institut du monde arabe à Paris autour de l’exposition « Osiris, mystères engloutis d’Égypte » présentée en 2015.
