Abstract
Denkmalpflege ist eine Investition in die Zukunft «Das Fell des Bären liegt zur Verteilung bereit» titelte am 8.2.2001 der Südkurier und zeigte einen strahlen- den Ministerpräsidenten Teufel mit seinem Vize, Wirt- schaftminister Döring.Anlässlich des Verkaufs der Landesanteile an dem Unternehmen Energie Baden- Württemberg an das französische Staatsunternehmen Electricite de France wurden nämlich 4,7 Milliarden DM erlöst.Aus diesem Geldsegen sollte auch im Rah- men der «Zukunftsoffensive III» ein mit 70 Millionen DM ausgestattetes Sofortprogramm der Denkmal- pflege für gefährdete Kulturobjekte gespeist werden, das nun kurzerhand fallen gelassen wurde.Wie konnte es zu diesem Tiefschlag gegen die Denkmalpflege kommen?Denn Denkmalschutz und Denkmalpflege erfreuen sich nach wie vor breiter Zustimmung, wenn man den Umfragen und der Abstimmung mit den Füßen alljährlich zum Tag des offenen Denkmals Glauben schenken darf.Des Weiteren herrscht in der Bundesrepublik allgemein Konsens darüber, dass Investitionen in die Denkmalpflege immer auch Investitionen in die Zukunft sind.Es sind auch sinnvolle Investitionen, da entspre-
