Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el poema de la Edda Poética, denominado Völuspa, que trata sobre el origen y el fin del mundo en la visión de los pueblos escandinavos de la época vikinga, afirmando sus conceptos escatológicos. De esta manera, se hará un paralelismo entre los hechos ocurridos en este trabajo, con las propias comunidades, buscando puntos que las retraten, desde su mentalidad hasta su cotidianidad. Se destacarán algunos puntos, como la importancia de la mujer para las prácticas religiosas, la sociedad orientada a la guerra, así como la valoración del conocimiento, sobre todo en la figura de Óðinn. Se utilizarán diferentes obras además de la Edda Poética, así como se movilizarán otros autores, abarcando los campos de la Arqueología y la Historia.
