Abstract
Régulièrement, les archéologues travaillant au Canada oriental fouillent de petits sites qui semblent résulter d’occupations de courte durée par des chasseurs-cueilleurs. Les données ethnographiques et ethnohistoriques collectées sur les groupes chasseurs-cueilleurs qui occupaient ces latitudes nordiques indiquent qu’il existe beaucoup de types de sites occupés brièvement et qu’ils devraient présenter des traces d’activités variées et des artefacts et des structures associés. Par la présentation de quelques exemples archéologiques du Québec, cet article explore la variabilité, la représentativité et la signification de ces petits sites occupés brièvement et en lien avec la chasse.
