Abstract

Cet article propose de jeter un regard neuf sur l’apport du cinéma populaire des années 1960 et 1970 à la constitution d’une culture cinématographique dite « fondatrice » d’une expérience culturelle et identitaire nouvellement « québécoise ». La méthode de l’histoire culturelle est mise à profit afin de montrer l’impact vaste et complexe de l’un des genres cinématographiques les plus influents de l’époque : la comédie. Le p’tit vient vite, mettant en vedette Yvon Deschamps, est ici pris en exemple. Il permet d’éclairer un aspect primordial de cette fondation, à savoir les tenants et aboutissants de la réappropriation des techniques hégémoniques de diffusion à grande échelle.
