Abstract
During the later part of the twentieth century, Inuit came close to forgetting their heritage. They came close to denying their identity. They now realize that they must preserve their culture and traditions. That they must make sure the true history of the Arctic and the Inuit is told. And that they must continue to practice "sovereignty" over the ancestral homeland.
