Group for Children and Families Having a Parent with an Operational Stress Injury
Bibliographic record
Abstract
E = MC 3 is a turnkey program for professionals. The therapeutic program focuses on children ages seven through twelve who live with a parent affected by operational stress injury (OSI). The overall purpose of the group intervention approach is to develop the strengths of each family member in order to improve well-being of the individual and of the family as a whole. The program’s goal is to end family members’ isolation, help children and parents to better understand OSIs and their effects on the family, promote communication within the family, improve relationships between parents and children, and help prevent mental health problems and family violence. At the end of the program, families reported that children expressed themselves more and felt less guilty, children had a better understanding of an OSI, communication within the family was improved, with the help of tools provided, it was still possible to have a good time as a family, parents were no longer isolated, and children realized that they could not cure their parent. Although the results are essentially qualitative, there is potential for researchers to evaluate the program with added psychometric tools. The E = MC 3 program was built to meet the needs of military families and has been offered twice to the community of the Canadian Forces Military Base in Valcartier, QC. It has since been nationalized so that all Military Family Resource Centres across Canada can offer the program as well. The two groups in Valcartier consisted of four families each. The first group had children aged nine to twelve and the second, children aged six to ten. The program has six workshops for children, three for parents, and two for the family as a whole. The E = MC 3 project is a therapeutic group intervention program for families living with an OSI-affected parent. It includes workshops for children aged seven to twelve, workshops for their parents, and workshops for the family as a whole.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.

machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
