Abstract
Nous traitons, à travers notre article, de cinq longs-métrages de Pierre Falardeau, les trois Elvis Gratton, Octobre et 15 février 1839.L'analyse de ces cinq œuvres repose sur les buts du cinéma falardien, lesquels répondent, selon nous, à deux grands concepts : la dénonciation et la promotion.Si le cinéaste Falardeau use de son art pour dénoncer les éléments qu'il identifie comme portant atteinte à la survie du Québec, tels que l'américanisation et le trudeauisme, il ne manque pas, par ailleurs, de promouvoir les valeurs liées au nationalisme et à la liberté, lesquelles permettraient à la province de se sortir du carcan sociopolitique.Ainsi, nous émettons l'hypothèse que le cinéma falardien est un cinéma militant.
