Les commerçants espagnols en France constituent une population relativement anecdotique, en comparaison des milliers d’ouvriers espagnols accourant dans les usines françaises dans l’entre-deux-guerres. Cette population n’est cependant pas dénuée d’intérêt pour l’histoire sociale et l’histoire de l’immigration, car en cherchant à constituer un réseau transnational unifié gérant de bout en bout le commerce du fruit, de la production à la distribution, elle a fait émerger toute une organisation du travail, fondée sur de véritables filières migratoires. Se dotant d’une représentation et de solides organisations commerciales, les fruitiers espagnols en France ont été actifs dans le domaine de la vie commerciale, mais également politique, de la péninsule.
