Abstract
When live musicians perform, they engage themselves and the audience in a journey. They carry the mind and spirit away from the here and now, suspending them both in the music. As musicians present their art, they carry listeners through the emotional highs and lows that score the songs. They seduce, enrage, give joy and sometimes pass on messages that could not be achieved in any other medium. There is something in the air at a live show that cannot be recorded or reproduced: A relationship is developed when a band looks a crowd in the eyes, one that is electrical and wholly unique.
