At the stroke of midnight (or so memory serves) they vanished. As if in a fairy tale, the luminescent princes and princesses disappeared into the dark of night, never to return. Evaporating, just as the evening dew began to settle, their timeless performances surrendered to temporality, their massive presence reduced to the faint, lingering play of shapes on retinae.
