Un progetto multidisciplinare sulla cultura materiale del territorio di Ostia

Abstract
La cultura materiale dell’età augustea non è attualmente nota nel suo complesso nell’area di Ostia, a causa della scarsità di dati e di contesti relativi a quest’epoca. Nel contributo sono presentati gli esiti del riesame, ancora in corso nell’ambito del progetto Immensa Aequora (www.immensaaequora.org), del materiale ceramico proveniente da due contesti del territorio, la Longarina 1 e il “Binario Morto”. Lo studio tipologico e quantitativo delle anfore, in particolare, ha fornito importanti informazioni in merito alla circolazione degli alimenti nel territorio ostiense. I dati archeometrici, già editi sulle anfore del “Binario Morto”, che si sono aggiunti ai lavori già pubblicati sulle ceramiche dell’Ager portuensis, costituiscono un riferimento per le analisi di laboratorio sui contenitori della Longarina 1, in parte già campionate in passato, al fine di una verifica della loro origine e dei contenuti trasportati, mediante analisi di gascromatografia-spettrometria di massa (GC-MS). Sono inoltre anticipati alcuni dati preliminari relativi allo studio condotto sulla terra sigillata italica e sulla ceramica comune dei due contesti.
