Abstract
As a third-generation Chinese Canadian, I never considered Chinese culture my own. Sure, I could use chopsticks and count to ten in Cantonese, but my Caucasian friends ordered better dim sum than me. As an actor, I shied away from Chinese projects, pushing instead for colour-blind casting for roles I felt more connected to.
