Abstract
O artigo averigua a relação entre o conceito de laicidade, em Paul Ricoeur, com a BNCC, no intuito de pensar uma proposta pedagógica para o Ensino Religioso com desdobramentos para a cidadania e o respeito à diversidade religiosa. Pergunta-se pela importância da BNCC com esse aspecto, reafirmando a referencialidade da Ciência da Religião no processo de formação de professores e no fornecimento de conteúdos e abordagens essências para o Ensino Religioso, especialmente pelo fato de tentar compreender o fenômeno religioso de forma holística sem preferenciar uma tradição religiosa em detrimento de outras. Depreende-se, pois, que esse tipo de entendimento eleva o Ensino Religioso ao status de componente curricular indispensável para uma formação direcionada para os valores democráticos e civilizatórios.
