Abstract
The present study aims to explore the relationships between the creative potential of a sample of Tunisian sixth-grade elementary school children (n = 142) and parental education level as well as gender in order to determine possible factors to explain these links. The results obtained were consistent, revealing a significant positive gender effect of parental involvement on children’s creativity. Also, the mother’s education seems to favour the children’s creative cognitive skills rather than non-cognitive skills whereas the father’s education seems to favour the children’s creative non-cognitive skills rather than cognitive skills.
