Abstract
Analyser les représentations sociales permet de questionner la considération politique et culturelle à l’égard d’une pratique. En se concentrant sur les représentations sociales de deux groupes d’adolescentes lyonnaises, des collégiennes et des jeunes joueuses de haut-niveau, il s’agit d’interroger la variation des représentations des jeunes filles sur le football en fonction de l’assignation de sexe des pratiquant·es et en fonction de l’expertise footballistique de la répondante à l’étude. Grâce à la méthode de l’association verbale libre, les adolescentes ont cité 10 mots en rapport avec « la pratique du football par les femmes », et avec « la pratique du football par les hommes ». Les résultats soulignent une certaine homogénéité dans les représentations sociales des deux groupes d’adolescentes. Elles convoquent une immoralité dans la pratique des joueurs, tout en l’associant à des qualités athlétiques valorisantes, tandis qu’elles font état d’un déclassement social pour la pratique des femmes.
