Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This article offers a brief historiographical overview of how the Archivo Central del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores (ACMINREX) in Havana has expanded the scholarship of Cuban foreign relations during the Cold War. Beginning with foundational works from John Kirk and Piero Gleijeses, ACMINREX materials were incorporated into multiarchival methodologies exploring Cuban-Canadian and Cuban-African interactions before illuminating inter-American relations in the 1940s and 1950s. Now, the archive's collections appear in multiple works in global Cold War studies examining Cuba's impact. This article concludes with suggestions on the ACMINREX's value for scholars considering further research into Cuban and inter-American foreign relations.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
