Julien Faure, entreprise familiale de rubans et soieries, est toujours en activité à la cinquième génération. Emblématique du territoire textile stéphanois, elle résiste depuis 160 ans à l’adversité et se projette pour conserver et transmettre des savoir-faire marqueurs d’identité dans la création, la production et la commercialisation d’articles haut de gamme.Les riches archives textiles et administratives qu’elle ouvrit dans le désir de mieux connaître son histoire sont ici interprétées dans une vision transhistorique et anthropologique.Cette contribution nous invite dans l’intimité d’une culture d’entreprise qui considère son patrimoine comme productif et dans laquelle la lignée dirigeante a toujours été soutenue par des collaborateurs qui se revendiquent comme « tous des Julien Faure ». L’exemple prouve que les savoir-faire rares que nous craignons de voir disparaître se conservent, s’enrichissent et se transmettent d’abord par l’activité des entreprises confrontées aux marchés et résilientes malgré les crises : celles qui osent changer pour conserver.
