Abstract
Introducción: los programas de vacunación constituyen estrategias integrales para atenuar o eliminar el impacto de las enfermedades inmunoprevenibles.El objetivo del presente trabajo fue describir la evolución del Calendario Nacional de Vacunación de Argentina, estimar el gasto anual y analizar los impactos presupuestarios de potenciales mejoras.Material y métodos: se describió la evolución y estimaron los costos de cada año hasta el escenario actual del calendario de vacunación argentino, evaluando luego el impacto de esquemas superadores.Los resultados fueron expresados como el impacto presupuestal total y relativo de cada escenario versus la situación actual.Resultados: para el periodo 2007-2018 se estimó un crecimiento en el gasto total en vacunas de 212 mills USD (907%).El cambio de esquema de vacunación con mayor impacto en términos presupuestarios fue el esquema completo de vacunación hexavalente con abandono de VPO (21% versus 2018).Conclusiones: primer análisis de la evolución del calendario y estimación del gasto realizado en Argentina.Se han desarrollado escenarios recomendables técnicamente y simplificados para reducir la incertidumbre en los resultados.Los sistemas locales y regionales podrán utilizar la evidencia generada por el estudio para la toma de decisiones respecto a los esquemas de vacunación y carga económica.
