The Gothic Anthropocene est un ouvrage collectif publié sous la direction de Justin D. Edwards, Rune Graulund et Johan Höglund en 2022, aux Presses Universitaires du Minnesota.2 L'ouvrage se pose pour objectif de reconfigurer notre relation à l'environnement, à une époque marquée à la fois, paradoxalement, par l'impact monumental de l'humain sur la nature, et par un profond sentiment de perte de notre capacité d'action quand il s'agit de poursuivre notre existence : cette époque est l'Anthropocène.Le texte est soustendu par un travail philosophique et sémantique permanent qui cherche à montrer que prendre conscience que l'on vit dans l'Anthropocène, c'est reconnaître que la frontière qui sépare l'Anthropos de la Nature n'a toujours été qu'une illusion.Dès lors, il faut développer de nouvelles stratégies narratives, des procédures méthodologiques et un nouveau langage conceptuel correspondant à l'Anthropocène.
