Edema de papila em hospital terciário no interior de São Paulo

Abstract
Introdução: O edema do disco óptico refere-se ao inchaço oftalmoscópico do disco óptico com um aumento concomitante de fluido dentro ou ao redor dos axônios. Metodologia: Estudo observacional descritivo retrospectivo de paciente com edema de papila no Hospital Santo Amaro por quase dois anos. Variáveis: idade, sexo, tempo do início dos sintomas, antecedentes, acuidade visual, olho acometido, diagnóstico, tempo de internação, realização de pulsoterapia e tempo até intervenção. Resultados: Foram selecionados 8 casos distribuídos igualmente entre os sexos, com média de idade de 33 anos, com diagnósticos diversificado, tempo de sintoma-atendimento longo, porém a maior parte com bom prognóstico. Discursão: Em comparação com outros estudos, apresentamos pacientes com edema de papila em idade mais precoce, com mais comorbidades e com um tempo de sintomas-tratamento maior. Dados semelhantes quanto a bilateralidade e melhora/não piora da acuidade visual. Conclusão: Anamnese e exame físico sistêmico e oftalmológico são fundamentais tendo em vista a heterogeneidade dos diagnósticos. Apesar do prognóstico favorável, existe a possibilidade de melhora e agilidade no tempo do início do tratamento e atendimento por outras especialidades.
