Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo é compreender a razão da evolução da sepse causar fraqueza muscular em pacientes internados em UTI. Para isso, realizou-se uma revisão integrativa de literatura, onde foram utilizados os bancos de dados BVS, SciELO e PUBMED, através dos descritores: fraqueza muscular e a sepse; prevenção; unidade de tratamento intensivo e a sepse. Foi evidente que os achados deste estudo viabilizaram a conscientização da problemática gerada pela infecção. Dessa forma, é imprescindível que o diagnóstico precoce seja priorizado para um melhor desfecho no tratamento, devendo ser iniciado logo na triagem durante as primeiras horas do atendimento médico. Evidenciou também, a importância do investimento em treinamentos e capacitação da equipe médica e de enfermagem para uma melhor percepção dos sinais de sepse e na busca da reversão do quadro de modo eficaz e rápido.
