Abstract

Este escrito propone revisar los diversos usos y formas de concebir el canon en la historia de las ideas en cuanto ámbito descriptivo y normativo que define y traza límites y fronteras de la disciplina de historia de las ideas. Este recorrido se estructura en tres partes. En primer lugar, se mostrará la concepción descriptiva del canon que es operativa en la historia de las ideas, en donde se indicarán algunas inconsistencias en cuanto a su formación y los criterios utilizados para su constitución. En segundo lugar, se expondrá la concepción normativa del canon, aquella que define un conjunto de normas y reglas que permiten identificar a la disciplina como tal, y donde también se indicarán determinadas inconsistencias que no habilitan una constitución permanente del canon de historia de las ideas.  En tercer lugar, como consecuencia de esta situación defenderé un carácter flexible del canon y junto a ello mostraré las actitudes críticas o transgresoras que se pueden adoptar como respuesta a la flexibilidad del canon. Las reflexiones que trataré de esbozar en este escrito en ningún caso deben tomarse como conclusiones de ningún tipo, sino que deben ser entendidas como estímulos para la discusión sobre la historia de las Ideas como campo disciplinar.
