Abstract
Martine Chartrand est une cinéaste d’animation québécoise acclamée partout à travers le monde. Les autrices démontrent que son œuvre propose un regard féministe et antiraciste unique sur la reconnaissance et la transmission de l’héritage des peuples noirs. Leur démarche repose sur la description de ses films en suivant l’ordre chronologique de réalisation. La problématique du racisme et de la minorisation de l’imaginaire féminin dans les arts met en évidence les conséquences des représentations négatives véhiculées dans les cartoons dominant le genre et, par contraste, fait la démonstration de l’engagement de cette artiste dans la production de représentations respectueuses de l’histoire, des femmes et des peuples noirs.
