Abstract
Cet article propose de poser la question de l’exposition du sexe et de l’intimité dans une étude comparative entre des œuvres d’ORLAN et de Deborah De Robertis, mettant en scène leur nudité dans l’espace muséal. Ces deux artistes de deux générations différentes ont en effet une pratique artistique semblable donnant à voir les normes qui entourent le corps des femmes dans l’histoire de l’art. Connue du grand public grâce à sa performance exposant son sexe devant l’Origine du Monde au musée d’Orsay en 2014, De Robertis donne une corporalité concrète aux tableaux qu’elle reproduit, rejoignant la pratique de l’artiste stéphanoise comme avec À Poil Sans Poils (1978) où elle se met en scène devant un tableau du Louvre pour dévoiler sa pilosité pubienne. Sous le prisme des études de genre et de l’histoire de l’art, cette étude inédite propose de saisir les conditions dans lesquelles l’imaginaire de l’intime est susceptible de subvertir les normes sociales. Il s’agit donc de rendre compte de la réappropriation et du renversement de la charge symbolique des œuvres à travers la mascarade qui mêle l’intime, l’humour et l’obscène.
