Abstract

L’image composite telle qu’on l’utilise aujourd’hui depuis l’émergence de l’image appareillée et fixée, et en particulier depuis la propagation des technologies numériques appliquées aux images, se définit comme un objet visuel homogène composé à partir d’éléments hétérogènes. Or dans cet article, est questionnée l’idée d’un compositage effectué en temps réel. Dans ce type particulier de compositage, contrairement à un assemblage réalisé à partir de sources qui ne sont pas co-présentes, il y a constante coexistence des éléments hétérogènes assemblés, créant une expérience du composite qui peut à tout moment devenir image (capture d’écran ou photographique ou vidéographique). Il ne s’agit donc plus uniquement d’image composite, mais d’expérience du composite. Pour étayer ce propos, cet article propose de comparer trois types de projections qui produisent du composite dans l’espace réel, créant une réalité mixte, pour ensuite revenir sur la notion de composite et en dégager son caractère matériel. Puis est analysée, à travers une analogie avec la technique industrielle du moulage par projection, la manière dont l’imbrication d’images se produit dans l’espace-écrin.
