Abstract
Partant du fait historico-idéologique qui détermine l’appareil photographique -- sa nature et ses fonctions -- comme un dispositif inventé pour donner à voir ce qui est (« l’actuel »), et donc soumis à la logique de la représentation (« documentaire »), cet article affirme la possibilité, à l’instar de Vilém Flusser, de faire un usage contraire au programme de l’ apparatus , c’est-à-dire un usage critique qui nous invite à voir ce qui pourrait être (« le virtuel »). Donc, à penser. Ainsi, en affirmant hypothétiquement l’existence d’un type particulier d’image qualifiée de « pensive », cet article retrace synthétiquement, en soulignant les similitudes et les différences, quelques efforts théoriques (Jacques Rancière, Gilles Deleuze, Roland Barthes, Régis Durand, Georges Didi-Huberman) faits pour cerner cette puissance très singulière des images. Enfin, l’article se demandera si les techniques de compositing (au sens large du terme : collage, patchwork , mosaïque, etc.) constituent un moyen efficace de produire ces images rebelles capables de nous donner à penser et, par conséquent, susceptibles de fendre notre image du monde (critique de l’iconologie) pour fendre le monde (critique de l’idéologie).
