At the end of this long road, it is a pleasure to thank those who helped us so generously along the way.First of all, we are deeply indebted to Zdravko Šundrica, the expert archivist at the State Archives of Dubrovnik who transcribed the Libro deli Signori Chazamorbi and was always a source of support for our research in Dubrovnik.He introduced Zlata Blažina Tomić to the mysteries of mediaeval Latin and with his invaluable guidance she was later able to transcribe Latin texts on her own.Zdravko Šundrica, a scholar to whom Ragusan studies owe so much, did not live to see this book but his spirit and learning have been present during the entire endeavour.We dedicate this book to him.We remember with gratitude the assistance we
