Abstract
Wincenty Lessel, pianista, kompozytor i dyrygent nadwornej kapeli książąt Czartoryskich w Puławach, urodził się w Czechach. Na podstawie skąpych informacji zawartych w życiorysie i korespondencji Wincentego Lessla Hanna Rudnicka-Kruszewska przedstawiła hipotezę, że przyszedł on na świat około 1740–1750 roku w mieście Jílové u Prahy. W wyniku kwerendy archiwalnej udało się odnaleźć metrykę chrztu muzyka, który przyszedł na świat w miejscowości Riegersdorf (dziś Modrá, dzielnica miasta Jílové u Děčína) jako syn Hansa Christopha Lössla, chałupnika – nie burgrabiego, jak podawał sam Lessel, i jego żony Rosiny. Został ochrzczony 17 czerwca 1756 roku w kościele parafialnym w Jílové u Děčína (Eulau). Wincenty miał siedmioro rodzeństwa. Byli to Hans Joseph, Christoph, Anton, Hans Franz, Franz (Anton), Ignatz, Maria Theresia, urodzeni w latach 1738–1753. Ich rodzice zmarli prawdopodobnie w latach 1759–1760. Najpewniej podczas wojny siedmioletniej lub niedługo po niej Lesslowie przenieśli się z Jílovégo do Drezna i dołączyli do zamieszkującej tam rodziny, w tym do Georga Alberta Lössla, późniejszego założyciela słynnej cukierni Lesslów w warszawskim Pałacu Saskim. Wraz z jego potomkami Wincenty Lessel w 1819 roku wystąpił o nadanie ich rodzinie indygenatu szlacheckiego.
