Abstract
O presente trabalho tem como foco de análise os carroceiros do município de Itapuranga-GO. O objetivo é discutir e analisar o contexto histórico e as narrativas que envolvem a trajetória de trabalho dos carroceiros, que atuam no entorno da rodoviária do município de Itapuranga–GO. Buscando compreender a trajetória deste grupo de trabalhadores, como eles estão organizados, quais suas lutas e resistências para continuarem ativos no mercado de trabalho. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados foram: revisão bibliográfica, pesquisa documental em legislação pertinente e pesquisa de campo exploratória, para coletar dados, fotografias e entrevistas com os carroceiros. Observou-se a organização de trabalho dos carroceiros, os produtos que estes sujeitos transportam. Verificou-se a perspectiva de alguns moradores e comerciantes, sobre o trabalho desenvolvido pelos carroceiros nas ruas da cidade. Atualmente há em muitas cidades Leis e Decretos municipais que proíbem utilizar carroças de tração animal em ruas e avenidas. Entretanto no município de Itapuranga não existe lei especifica que proíbe o uso de carroças de tração animal no espaço urbano.
