Resumen
 La guerra civil española no fue un acontecimiento aislado en el contexto de la Europa de Entreguerras. Sus efectos trascendieron las fronteras españolas e influyeron en la política y la sociedad de diferentes estados europeos. Bélgica no fue una excepción. Por ello creemos que analizar cómo la guerra de España impactó en el devenir del estado y la sociedad belgas contribuye a demostrar que las alternativas socio-políticas que presentes en España lo estaban también en otros países europeos. El estudio de la influencia de la guerra civil española sobre otros estados demuestra que la propia contienda debería ser analizada en el marco del contexto europeo. Este artículo proporciona lo que consideramos es un útil instrumento para futuras investigaciones. Se trata de un ensayo historiográfico que analiza los trabajos académicos que se ocupan de la cuestión del impacto de la guerra civil española en Bélgica. En él examinamos el alcance y los límites de las investigaciones realizadas hasta la fecha, así como los enfoques metodológicos utilizados, mostrando que todavía queda mucho por investigar.
