Abstract
O objetivo deste trabalho é refletir acerca dos conceitos de região e identidade elencados pela Geografia cultural na construção do conceito de goianidade, na formação identitárias do povo goiano, na obra de Bernardo Élis. Vislumbrando a cultura como uma criação coletiva e renovada dos homens, moldando seus indivíduos e definindo os contextos de vida social que são, ao mesmo tempo, os meios de organizar e dominar o espaço em que vivem. Busca-se o conceito de goianidade enquanto delimitador e marcador do sistema de valor que coexiste na região do estado de Goiás para compreender a identidade Goiana e sua delimitação regional através do estudo da construção desta sociedade e seu processo de desenvolvimento e transformações por meio do resgate de suas heranças culturais perpetuadas ao longo do período da mineração até o seu isolamento social, que se inicia a partir daí até a década de 1970, quando, em outra realidade, se inicia a busca por uma “modernidade”, busca esta, fundamentada em ideias e pressupostos de teóricos que apresentam significativa importância na definição e construção dos conceitos discutidos acerca de região e identidade por Paul Claval, Vidal de La Blache e Friedrich Ratzel e a caracterização da identidade goiana apontada por Nasr Fayad Chaul trabalhada nos livros O Tronco , Veranico de Janeiro e Ermos e Gerais de Bernardo Élis.
