Sampah merupakan suatu permasalahan lingkungan yang tidak ada hentinya dan permasalahan dari sampah perlu dipikirkan dan ditanggulangi bersama. Rute pengangkutan sampah dari Tempat Pembuangan Sementara ke Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) selama ini masih kurang optimal karena terdapat beberapa rute dengan kendaraan yang mengangkut sampah tidak memaksimalkan kapasitas kendaraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan rute optimal pengumpulan sampah di kota binjai dalam hal waktu dan biaya. Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) digunakan untuk memodelkan masalah optimasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terjadi efisiensi pada waktu dan jarak pada rute yangdiusulkan sehingga menghemat 50,2 menit dan 0,9 km untuk setiap operasi layanan.
