Cet article vise à montrer la congruence entre une pratique pédagogique, la discussion à visée philosophique ou DVP (Tozzi, 2012), et la conception du langage fondée sur le dialogisme du philosophe et linguiste français Frédéric François. Nous analysons le processus de conceptualisation tel qu’il se déploie dans des activités de DVP avec l’objectif de comprendre comment ce processus peut être éclairé par deux notions clés de l’oeuvre de François: les différentes façons de signifier et les mouvements discursifs qui orientent l’interprétation. Notre étude porte sur cinq DVP recueillies à l’école primaire auprès d’élèves de 10 et 11 ans. Elle s’attache à décrire les formes que prend l’émergence du sens dans le dialogue, par le jeu des reprises-modifications et des continuités déplacements, deux notions permettant d’appréhender le dialogisme selon Frédéric François. Pour caractériser la présence du discours autre dans cette dynamique, les analyses de Jacqueline Authier-Revuz apportent une grille de lecture complémentaire.
