Abstract
Cet article brosse un rare portrait de la population étudiante adulte (24 ans et plus) au collégial québécois à partir d’un échantillon de 1 073 personnes étudiantes. Ce portrait s’articule autour de différentes caractéristiques: le genre, la situation parentale, le lieu de naissance et le travail rémunéré pendant les études. Il fournit un éclairage sur les enjeux de l’intégration scolaire de cette population étudiante à son entrée au collégial. Les résultats mettent en exergue l’hétérogénéité des réalités des étudiants et étudiantes adultes et l’importance de leur offrir un meilleur soutien financier; tout en soulignant les difficultés exprimées sur le plan scolaire par les étudiantes, les parents étudiants et les personnes étudiantes issues de l’immigration.
