Abstract
L’article interroge la façon dont la rupture représentée par la révolution des Oeillets oriente le rapport au passé et sa représentation dans Tabou (2012), de Miguel Gomes, et La dernière fois que j’ai vu Macao (2012), de João Pedro Rodrigues et João Rui Guerra da Mata. Dans ces films, l’évocation du passé colonial implique une réflexion sur l’événement révolutionnaire et ses conséquences qui, même en partie implicite, voire déniée, ne saurait être négligée. Deux caractéristiques communes soulignent la relation entre le présent et le passé : la reprise distanciée d’une forme de narration populaire et codée ; et l’utilisation d’une voix off abondante qui creuse, selon des modalités singulières, l’écart entre le visible et le sonore pour interroger le lien entre connaissance historique et mémoire subjective. Le cinéma portugais contemporain essaie ainsi de se situer par rapport à un passé fragile, voué à un certain oubli, même s’il demeure toujours actuel.
