Abstract
Des dizaines d’années séparent la publication du texte de Marguerite Duras, Les Mains négatives, la sortie de son court-métrage du même titre, et la publication de Correspondance avec le Mur d’Hélène Cixous. Toutefois, la narratrice chez Cixous est, comme chez Duras, en quête de traces, voulant « sonder les murs ». Duras sonde les empreintes sur la paroi de la grotte magdalénienne, empreintes « négatives » menant aux premiers cris de l’humanité, des cris d’amour vieux de trente mille ans, et aussi à un mot : désir. Ces voix lancent des appels vers des voyages intérieurs qui répondent à une mythologie personnelle pour chacune de ces écrivaines. Leurs récits s’appuient sur la pierre pour tenter d’inscrire une remontée vertigineuse du temps à travers les couches sédimentées de la mémoire. Dès lors, ces récits visionnaires ne font référence à aucun texte historique, iconographique ou anthropologique.
