Abstract
A XX. századi francia politikai filozófia egyik megújítójának tartott Claude Lefort-t és a hivatása „kopernikuszi fordulatát” sürgető politikai antropológust, Pierre Clastres-t barátságukon túl az kötötte össze, hogy vizsgálódásaik az egyes társadalmi formákra jellemző, sajátos politikai tapasztalatokra irányították a figyelmet. Úgy látták, a politikai gondolkodás szabadsága nem függetleníthető az emberi lét intézményesülő, társadalmi együttélésben kidolgozásra kerülő történetiségétől. Nyomon követve kiútkeresésüket a hatalom absztrakt, intézményi analíziseként felfogott politikától az eredendően szimbolikus természetű politikum kérdéséig jutunk. Míg Clastres vad törzseiben az osztatlanság vágya az, ami az erőszak centrifugális logikáján keresztül érvényre jut, Lefort a modern társadalomban megnyíló újfajta érzékenységet, tapasztalati- és létmódot kapcsolja az azt megalapozó történeti feltételekhez.
