Abstract
La conversion religieuse est un objet de recherche complexe qui a suscité l’intérêt de plusieurs disciplines. Les connaissances monodisciplinaires qui en ont résulté ont occulté sa réalité complexe. Elles ont en outre conféré ou confirmé un pouvoir d’élucidation à des catégories issues des approches holistique ou individualiste (pouvoir, reproduction, intention, rationalité, par exemple). L’approche interactionniste a contribué aussi à la compréhension de la conversion religieuse. Elle a, en revanche, réduit la temporalité à une linéarité qui laisse conjecturer qu’une éventuelle conversion religieuse pourrait se produire ponctuellement, dans un cadre « avant-après ». L’objectif de cette contribution est de sortir de ces sentiers battus, en observant le rapport de la psyché à la religion par l’entremise de la théorie relationnelle.
