Determinación del patrón de crecimiento en cerdo ibérico (50 % Duroc) criado en régimen extensivo desde los 70 a los 365 días de edad

Abstract
El objetivo del estudio fue caracterizar matemáticamente el patrón de crecimiento del cerdo ibérico (50 % Duroc), nacido a finales de año y criado en extensivo desde los 70 hasta los 365 días de edad. Se realizaron en condiciones de campo mediciones repetidas de peso vivo y espesor graso dorsal individual, y consumo de pienso por lote. Se utilizaron dos lotes experimentales: A (91 machos y 95 hembras) y B (56 machos y 60 hembras). El programa de alimentación determinó el patrón e incluyó 4 fases caracterizadas por el pienso y su cantidad aportada: 1) piensos "transición/adaptación" ad libitum para un "crecimiento potencial" entre 24-98 días de edad; 2 y 3) piensos "Crecimiento" y "Engorde I", restringidos al 2,5 % y 2,0 % del peso vivo, respectivamente, para un "crecimiento lento", entre 98-303 días de edad; 4) pienso "Engorde II" ad libitum para un "crecimiento compensatorio", entre 303-352 días de edad. El resultado de los principales parámetros calculados por ajuste del patrón fue: 1º) ecuaciones de crecimiento: 218 kg de peso vivo a la madurez, 0,00977 de precocidad, 162,49 días de edad a la máxima ganancia de peso.; 2º) ecuación de consumo de energía metabolizable: a (119229,75); b (6,76); c (1,01); 3º) los kg de pienso aportado en fases 2 y 3: 2,47 %, 2,0 % del peso vivo, respectivamente. Se concluye que, en las condiciones de producción del ensayo, la metodología propuesta ajustó el patrón de crecimiento y alimentación que permiten el diseño de estrategias de alimentación que aumenten la eficiencia.
