A preocupação com a conservação dos elementos naturais tem crescido, em decorrência dos impactos que os têm afetado de maneira agressiva. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os impactos ambientais nas margens do rio Corrente, no perímetro urbano. A pesquisa foi realizada em três pontos sendo estes, a Estação de Tratamento de Água (ETA), a área ao entorno da Ponte do Vermelhão (PV) e na Estação de Tratamento de Esgoto (ETE). Para avaliação foi utilizado como instrumento de coleta de dados a matriz de impactos de Leopold que foi adaptada a fim de contemplar a realidade da área. Diante aos resultados apresentados, constatou que o perímetro estudado possui elevados valores de impactos, desse modo é necessário adotar práticas que possam minimizar os efeitos no meio ambiente, como a importância de colaboração e conscientização da população com intuito de tentar reverter ou minimizar os efeitos dos impactos.
