La disertación presenta el análisis realizado sobre el Sistema de Acreditación Mexicano enmarcado en los procesos de acreditación internacional, con la finalidad de conocer el avance y la forma de cómo se ha llevado a cabo en el país, por medio de identificar a las Instituciones de Educación Superior que han logrado realizar este tipo de evaluación externa; a los organismos acreditadores nacionales que han incluido indicadores con estándares internacionales y la cuantía de programas con reconocimiento internacional. Lo anterior, para valorar si la calidad de la educación superior que se imparte en el país está acorde con los parámetros del contexto mundial. Los resultados evidenciaron que es reducida la proporción de instancias acreditadoras nacionales que están buscando enfrentar el proceso tanto regional o internacional. Aun cuando, el propio sistema educativo está consciente de que se requiere transitar a este modelo en un futuro cercano, dado el mundo globalizado en el que nos encontramos.
