Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The Nouvelle Muséologie movement is historically tied to an international group of museologists and researchers notably found within the ICOFOM. While the work of the Nouvelle Muséologie's supporters proved, from the mid 1970s onward, to be a decisive factor, it was in fact a singular event that proved to be a key moment in the evolution of Canadian museum culture. An exhibit presented by the Glenbow Museum in Calgary in 1987, “The Spirit Sings: Artistic Traditions of Canada's First Peoples”, was a milestone moment for the change brought about by the Nouvelle Muséologie in Canada. This chapter shows that the Kyoto proposition bears within it, in a certain fashion, the distant but undeniable echo of Santiago de Chile. In Kyoto, the Canadian representatives were opposed to the proposed definition, despite defending the social role of the museum.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
